Nature...
gives us inspiration
and desire to find the essence of its Beauty. Landscape painting can create
visual poetry on endless themes.
After flying his airplane for many years over the Western landscape, Wilson
painted aerial views in sweeping abstract, lyrical compositions. He interpreted
the awe and grandeur of the Colorado mountains with rhythmic snow-covered
landforms and he portrayed the mesa tops broken by arroyos with raw earth
structures in abstract compositions.
In Wilson's brochure of his recent series, "Canyon Views," he
made this statement: "Viewing the grandeur and beauty of Arizona
canyons evokes awe and wonder. It is a spiritual experience between the
known and the unknowable. A timeless existence and sense of mystery lingers
in a spatial cavity in the earth. Quiet contemplation can lift man's mind
and spirit."
